While I was poking around in TechSoup I saw a post by Jayne Cravens. Jayne Cravens has a website called Coyote Communications which is a great resource for any volunteer manager. The site also has a Listing of Volunteer Management Software. I sent her an email message asking her to list VMS and if she would review it. This will cost me some money but I believe it will be worth it to get her endorsement. If the unthinkable happens and she poo poos it will be back to the drawing board and adding features that she believes to be needed or fixing things she would want done differently.
Stayed tuned to see what happens!

I have been fooling around in TechSoup over the last couple of days. It is a site that specializes in assisting non-profits. Companies donate software and hardward and they make it avaialable to non profits for a small admin fee.
I posted a couple of messages telling people about VMS so hopefully will stir some interest.

VMS is now available for download at download.com. Of course people downloading should visit my website to view the movie tutorials.
I hesitated announcing this because the description of VMS is kind of messed up but I’ve submitted corrections. Anyway as of this writing it has been downloaded 45 times.

Today, I added the ability for VMS users to register and ask questions about VMS or make general comments or even post a review.
I want to hear what you have to say about VMS. I can help you if you are frustrated but only if you allow me to by giving me your feedback. I put a great deal of effort in developing VMS just for you and I will do whatever it takes to make you happy with VMS.

Undocumented tip - is not covered in the vms.hlp file
My church has small groups. We wanted to be able to move a group member from one group to another without having to first delete the member from one group and then adding the same member to another group. In other to do this I made a button which when clicked would popup a list of Groups allowing the user to select a group to which the member selected would be moved. This button is only visible if the “Group Type” is “Small Group”. You will need to add this Group Type and then make one of your groups type = “Small Group”.
